Turning Up the Heat
Simon | November 22, 2006Remember the Year 2000?
Year 2000 was the year the world was ushered into the new millennium.

It was also the year George W. Bush won his first term as the President of the United States. It wasn’t a landslide victory for Bush. In fact, it was one of the most closely contested and controversial Presidential election in US history.

Al Gore was the unfortunate individual who lost to George Dubya in the 2000 election. Although Gore won the popular vote (Gore 48.4%, Bush 47.9%), he lost the presidency to Bush’s majority in the electoral vote. The defeat hit him pretty hard, he faded from politics and distanced himself from the public limelight.
I was surprised to see him starring in a recent documentary. I was even more intrigued to find that the documentary is not politically themed. Not a political-bashing documentary towards the Bush administration, something along the lines of Fahrenheit 9/11, as I originally thought it would be.

It seems that Gore has turned into an environmentalist of some sort. In recent years, he had gone to cities around the world giving speeches and presentations on the perplexing issue of Global Warming and human-induced climate change.
If you are like me and have doubts about the threat of Global Warming, you NEED to watch this documentary.

The film is called “The Inconvenient Truth”. Since it opened in the theaters back in May, it has become the third highest grossing documentary in the US to date.
Without spoiling it for you, I’ll just say that this film is gonna shock you. Or at the very least, have you looking at the seemingly bizzare weather patterns of late in a very different light.
Here’s a trailer to get you started.
Now go watch the real thing.
Simon used to think that he's got life all figured out.
